"Sorry Xerath…"

"It hurt, you know."

"Well… I like badges. You know how you get an inane urge to break all my lamps? I like to collect badges like you like to do that.

Also if it helps I’ll be giving you a break now.”

A knock? It better not be someone from the Institute for something trivial. After a few moments Rose swung open the door, freezing in place as she realized who her late night guest was. Many things rushed through her mind: anger, relief, hurt, among other things. She blinked a few times to make sure she wasn't seeing things before stepping back to let him inside, even if part of her wanted to tackle him. "I thought you were actually dead."

Zed did not resist the urge as strongly as Rose did. He swept in and scooped her up in his arms, the door swinging shut with a single motion that barely made Zed shift his action. His lips found hers, as if by instinct, and he seemed somewhat breathless as he finally released her and looked down at her “I’m sorry… everything had to be as realistic as possible, you are the first person I have shown myself to in almost a year!”

Zed nodded, his blood running cold as he heard her threat and promise. He couldn’t stand to do this to her again, regardless if it was necessary or not, for all the pain it caused her was mirrored in him. Every day he could not approach her, the weight of loneliness and emotional scarring, grew on him each day as though a great stone weight crushing his heart.

"I will not… You won’t have me away from your side ever again, as long as we live, I promise" A promise from Zed was not a common or light thing that he gave out.

Now, he scooped her from the ground and held her against him. He had waited so long to do so, and the trek was hardly a chore either, as he rocked her to try and settle the last nerves, before slipping both of them in to bed

'I promise'

At those two simple words Rose finally allowed herself to relax fully. It was such a relief to see him again, to know he was ok. There was still a pain deep down from all that time of feeling alone, but right now it was just a dull ache in her chest.

By the time they were both in bed she was able to feel just how tired she was, and yawned again as she settled in next to Zed, her head laying on his chest, “Mm… I’m glad to hear it. I got to say I never thought I’d miss being carried before.”

((Going to add a couple details from your first post :) ))

Rose was not one to fall asleep in the summoner commons, but in this instance she had pushed herself past her limit summoning, even factoring in her extremely high endurance. It was of no surprise she had drifted off in the library, resting in one of the armchairs provided. Nightmares were not uncommon, but this one brought back painful memories, that actually made her cry out in her sleep. As her mind tried to sink deeper into the nightmare she was suddenly shaken, and her name called. Quickly she opened her eyes with a startled gasp, only to see none other than Cecil shaking her with a panicked look in his eye. The summoner quickly catches her breath to calm herself, “That was… that wasn’t good… Thanks Cecil…” Her thoughts were still a bit clouded and she moved automatically to sit up, having no desire to fall back asleep anytime soon.

"There is an allure to that kind of power. I’ve dabbled in it at one time or another but, it can be corrupting. Xerath made that mistake if I read his file correctly."

"You did, he’s actually quite a dear friend of mind if you would believe it. He’s actually partly why I’m interested, though I’m quite careful not to let it get to the point of obsession. Believe me, that is not a fate I desire in the least. Its quite sad that he fell to such a cruel fate…"

“I know… I am so sorry… I had to make sure that I was believed as dead, and that meant no one could know” He kisses her forehead, and holds her close, kneeling as he felt her body relax, whether or not it was by her own faculty. He stroked her back and indulged himself in her presence, as he had forbidden himself from doing for so long.

It was so easy.. just to relax and pretend no time had passed at all, she sighed heavily leaning into him, one of very few people she would allow herself to be weak around. As her forehead was kissed she gazed up into his eyes, her violet ones narrowing a bit as she gave him likely the most stern look she would be able to muster at this rate, he really did know her too well.

"I understand… that doesn’t mean I like it, at all, and I swear… if you ever pull this again, you’re not going to be coming back here. I’m not going through this again."

Now that that was out of the way she yawned softly, and by the time her eyes were open again her gaze had softened, and she smiled softly up at the ninja, “Now if we keep this up I’m going to fall asleep right here, surely you’re tired as well. We can catch up in the morning, right?”

"I’m usually researching new spells. I want learn as much magic as I can." He thought for a moment and then continued talking about what she said before. Cecil seemed a little flustered, "It’s no game. This is our livelihood and the fate of Runeterra. One false step and the next rune war will destroy our world." His eyes met Rose’s, she could see the flames in his almost.

"Good, remember that," is all she says in response to the fiery eyes of her fellow summoner, a more stern look on her face before changing the subject back to the topic of studying. "I do the same thing at time, studying just to learn as much as possible. I’ve had a few very good teachers as well. I try and learn at least the basics of other magics, but personally I prefer learning about pure arcane magic, such power… and yet so destructive to use as well, its really quite interesting to learn about."

You gripped your hook swords, sighing “Leave me alone, summoner. I need to think.”

She watches the hook swords a bit, smirking more, “Oh, I’m sorry, but it appears your presence is going to be required on the fields. For the next.. hmm.. probably several hours.”

"I hope you know how to use me, summoner." You smirked slightly, relaxing yourself

She chuckles, “I’m one of the top summoners the league has, You have nothing to worry about, however, if you ever make a move to threaten me again, I’m sure you would just looove being on free week for a few weeks in a row. “

"I’m not upset, if I was you would be dead. I have something I need to plan and you’re not helping."

"You’re acting upset, and I highly doubt you could kill me that easily. What could you possibly be planning while commenting on women in various regions of Valoran? I find it very hard to believe that it could be anything that requires your full thought process."

She smirks crossing her arms, “It appears you’re the one upset over a stranger’s comment.”

"I can face the truth, you’re getting upset over a strangers comment."

"You’re assuming I’m upset because I spoke up. I gave you a simple fact, and you take it as me becoming emotionally involved."

You scowl “Get out of my sight summoner, i’m in no mood to deal with you.”
